Description
Single-hung windows have two sashes arranged vertically, one above the other, with the lower sash being movable so that the window opens from the bottom up.
Double-hung windows are also available, but the single-hung version is the most common. In fact, this is the most common type of window in old Quebec homes, and it remains very popular today because of its practicality and the way it opens, which many people prefer to a crank mechanism.
