There are two types of bay windows:

Bay windows consist of three sections that project outward from the house. The central section, which is fixed and panoramic, runs parallel to the wall, while the other two sections are smaller and arranged at an angle to the central section. These sections can be fixed, casement, or casement-style;
Arched or projecting windows that form a curve (bow windows) typically consist of four or five panes arranged in an arc, giving them a circular appearance. The center panes are fixed, but people often choose windows where the two end panes open (usually as casement or casement-style windows, depending on your needs).

Bay windows usually protrude more, but both types help make a room feel more spacious, create a sense of depth, and maximize natural light.

With their distinctive design, bay windows and bow windows lend a home a unique character. Bay windows are very popular in modern buildings, while arched windows evoke a Victorian style, although they also work well with other architectural styles.
